On August 22, the "2024 Greater Bay Area Employment and Entrepreneurship Program for Hong Kong and Macau Youth" was successfully launched at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base. Jointly organized by departments from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, the event aims to strengthen employment and entrepreneurship resources across the Greater Bay Area (GBA), providing opportunities for Hong Kong and Macau youth to share in the region's development and fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial culture.
During the launch ceremony, over 200 youth representatives from Hong Kong and Macau, startup project representatives, and investors witnessed the debut of the promotional video "In the Bay Area, Creating the Future Together". The event also marked the establishment of a liaison point for the "Greater Bay Area Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base Alliance" and a mentorship pairing ceremony between job market mentors and entrepreneurs, further consolidating support for youth entrepreneurship.
Exploring New Opportunities in Semiconductor and Integrated Circuits
On August 23, the first exploration tour focused on opportunities within the semiconductor and integrated circuits industry. The delegation visited key innovation hubs such as the Nansha Create Bay Hong Kong and Macau Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base and the Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Workshop in Futian. They engaged in discussions with industry experts, delved into current trends, and experienced the GBA’s robust entrepreneurial culture.
Exciting Follow-Up Activities Planned
Two additional events have been planned as part of this program. The first is an exploration tour themed "Opportunities in Advanced Manufacturing," covering cities like Zhuhai, Dongguan, Zhongshan, and Jiangmen, scheduled for late September. The second is a promotional event for the Hong Kong and Macau Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, set to take place in Hong Kong in October.
Building a Financing Platform to Support Youth Startups
During the launch event, Yueke Financial Group hosted the "Yueke Release No. 28: Entering the Hong Kong and Macau Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base" activity. Over 50 high-quality entrepreneurial projects from Hong Kong and Macau participated in investment and financing matchmaking. The event resulted in four projects signing cooperation agreements with investment institutions. Through project presentations and roadshows, Hong Kong and Macau youth showcased their innovative achievements, sought funding opportunities, and expanded their business reach.
Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Support with One-Stop Services
A "Startup Toolkit" was released during the event, offering a comprehensive guide to entrepreneurship in the nine mainland cities of the GBA. The toolkit covers entrepreneurial policies, activities, and lifestyle tips, providing Hong Kong and Macau youth with full-scale support for employment and entrepreneurship. The Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security also highlighted that since 2023, over 900 events have been organized, attracting over 35,000 Hong Kong and Macau youth and providing platforms for policy interpretation, project roadshows, and entrepreneurial exchanges.
To date, 84 innovation and entrepreneurship bases for Hong Kong and Macau youth have been established in the GBA, incubating over 5,600 entrepreneurial projects and attracting more than 200,000 Hong Kong and Macau residents to work and live in Guangdong.
The "2024 Greater Bay Area Employment and Entrepreneurship Program for Hong Kong and Macau Youth" continues to enhance resource integration and platform building across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, providing Hong Kong and Macau youth with new opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship in the Greater Bay Area.
